The state of California boasts 26 winning spots on the list, including 13 in the San Francisco vicinity alone -- a boon for Bay Area babies and their parents. The Midwest is also best, with Illinois and Minnesota claiming 12 spots each. Massachusetts and New York earned 11 and 12 nods, respectively. Other stand-out states include Pennsylvania and Ohio, as well as Washington D.C. Winners also represented Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Rhode Island, among others. Italian fare proved popular with families, with a strong showing from Buca de Beppo restaurants as well as Manhattan favorites Carmine's 91st Street and Carmine's Midtown, as well as several others.
"When you're dining out with kids, you really want to find a restaurant that has something for everyone at the table – a cool cocktail and fine food for the adults, a menu that appeals to young diners, and friendly service," says Caroline Potter, OpenTable's Chief Dining Officer. "The good news is that there are 100 restaurants – and, let's face it, many, many more – where families can enjoy all of that. From the fun of upscale barbecue restaurants and Japanese steakhouses to the comforts of new and classic Italian cuisine, these winning restaurants make it easier than ever for families to find a spot sure to please diners of every age."
Based on feedback collected from OpenTable diners between June 2010 and May 2011, the following 50 restaurants, listed in alphabetical order, received the highest scores from OpenTable diners. For more information about this list, please visit http://www.opentable.com/kids.
