October 28, the International Open Innovations Forum and Technology Show started in Moscow. Hundreds of experts met at the ENEA (Exhibition of National Economy Achievements) to discuss how the new technology changes human habitat, influences education, entertainment, productivity and health. The Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister of Serbia, Alesandr Vuchich, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Arkady Dvorkovich and the Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin took part in work of the first day of the Forum.

While speaking at the plenary meeting of the Forum, Dmitry Medvedev noted that there is no alternative to the innovation development of Russia: "The progress can't be stopped. The course on the innovation growth support will be continued, and it is a national target. We shall be built in the global technology world". The head of the government also emphasized that Russia is open for the innovation cooperation with all concerned, despite all circumstances. The session was held in the format of open interviews, which was attended, besides the Russian Prime Minister, by his Serbian counterpart - Alexander Vuchich, the President of the Skolkovo Foundation Viktor Vekselberg, the Head of the Foundation on the Economic Trends and author of the bestseller "The Third Industrial Revolution" Jeremy Rifkin, the Founder of ABBYY David Yang, and Director General of The Futures Agency Gerd Leonhard. The moderator of the session was the chief editor of TechCrunch Europe, Michael Butcher.
"Russia is on the front line of the innovation development", - the president of the Foundation on the Economic Trends, the writer, the social philosopher and the economist, Jeremy Rifkin assures. The expert noted that Russia takes a leading position in the field of innovations: the majority of significant discoveries of the XX century - the century of the second industrial revolution - were performed in the country. According to Rifkin, Russia possesses all the opportunities, namely: renewable natural resources, knowledge, talented scientists and inventors to become the innovation development leader during the third industrial revolution of the XXI century.
The program of the first Forum day included over 30 events with participation of the speakers from Russia, the countries of Europe and Asia, including the Ministers of the Russian Government and the countries of BRICS, the representatives of the companies Airbus, ABBYY, JSC RVC, JSC RUSNANO, Skolkovo and RFBR (Russian Foundation for Basic Research).
During the Forum, first day signing of a number of Partnership and Cooperation Agreements took place. Two agreements - with the Government of the Astrakhan region and with the IMEC company - have been signed by JSC RUSNANO, the Government of Moscow signed the agreement in the field of the innovation policy implementation with Morton-RSO company. Moreover, the results were summed up and the ceremonies of the Venture Investor, Gold Stylus, Tech-in-Media contest winners' awards took place.
