Omnicom Group Appoints Director, Corporate Communications, for APIMA Region Based in Singapore
SINGAPORE, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Omnicom Group has appointed Ms. Clara So to the position of Director, Corporate Communications of Omnicom Group APIMA (Asia Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa), effective August 2, 2010.
This appointment demonstrates Omnicom's active engagement and investment in the world's fastest growing region and reflects the group's commitment to further enhance its presence and operations across the APIMA region.
In making the announcement, Omnicom Group Vice Chairman and CEO APIMA Tim Love said, "Recruiting Clara to this newly created role represents Omnicom's determination to further strengthen its profile, visibility and reputation, as well as foster its internal and external relations throughout the region."
Based in Singapore, Ms. So's prime responsibility is to develop and spearhead the group's regional communications, enhance its brand values and support business growth.
With this appointment Ms. So will bring her 20 years of experience in corporate communications, media and industry relations in the region, as well as more than 10 years of regional leadership experience in the airline and aviation industry, to Omnicom Group.
Ms. So joins Omnicom Group from Lufthansa, where she was Director, Head of Corporate Communications, Asia-Pacific. She joined Lufthansa in 1995, establishing and operating its regional headquarters function for the world-class German flagship carrier and its aviation group of companies. During her tenure, she successfully enhanced the airline's positive image and established its leading position in the Asia-Pacific region with efficient PR strategies and coherent media and PR programs. She also had valuable experience in managing industry crises and issues efficiently, and organized high-profile communications campaigns and lobbying programs across the region.
Prior to joining Lufthansa, Ms. So began her career at The PR Company Ltd, a public relations agency in Hong Kong, where she was responsible for developing new business, providing strategic PR counseling and account service, as well as supervising a full spectrum of media relations and executing branding campaigns for clients like Shun Hing Group (sole agent in Hong Kong for Panasonic, National, JVC and Technics) and Lotus Development Software.
