NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nick Kroll comes to COMEDY CENTRAL in several forms! From an inappropriate basketball ref to a renowned canine plastic surgeon and the fabulous "Fabrice Fabrice," Kroll weaves his extensive cast of characters into the new sketch, pop culture weekly series "Kroll Show." A fresh take on sketch comedy, "Kroll Show" showcases Kroll's incredible ability to create memorable and hilarious characters that pop off the screen. Eight episodes begin on Wednesday, January 16 at 10:30 p.m., following all-new episodes of "Workaholics."
In the premiere episode of "Kroll Show," we overhear "Ref Jeff," Kroll's big-butted basketball ref, try to lock down plans with the players during the game; we meet Kroll and Jenny Slate as two publicists both named Liz in the reality series " PubLIZity," catch some quality bro-time with the likes of Ed Helms, Jason Mantzoukas and Adam Pally in "Sex in the City for Dudes," and on the teen soap parody "Wheels Ontario," where Kroll plays "Legs," the new kid at a school for handicapped kids, drama ensues.
Known for his role as "Ruxin" in the FX comedy "The League," along with his stand-up specials and roles on "Community," "Childrens Hospital," "Parks and Recreation" and "Portlandia," among other credits, Nick Kroll returns to COMEDY CENTRAL as the creator/writer/star of "Kroll Show." Not just a sketch show, the series is ultimately Kroll's smart and absurd take on of-the-moment pop culture topics like internet life, professional sports, nightclub culture and the television landscape.
Kroll (@nickkroll) fans will recognize many of their favorite characters, including "The Ed Hardy Boyz," featuring Kroll as "Bobby Bottleservice" and Jon Daly as his sidekick, "Peter Paparazzo;" "Aspen Bruckenheimer" and "Wendy" (a.k.a. the "Rich Dicks"); and the incomparable "Fabrice Fabrice." They'll also be introduced to an entirely new part of the Kroll Universe as Nick transforms himself into an eccentric cast of characters throughout the season including "Dr. Armand," the premier canine plastic surgeon; and "Gil Faizon," an Upper West Side, middle-aged divorce who's obsessed with Alan Alda, of the Oh, Hello Show, which Kroll created with John Mulaney.
Joining Nick for the first season of "Kroll Show" are a roster of well-known actors and comedians such as Fred Armisen, Tess Broussard, Andy Daly, Kathryn Hahn, Ed Helms, Rob Huebel, Andy Milonakis, Chelsea Peretti and Adam Pally, who showcase their comedic abilities when they make guest appearances and add an element of surprise to the show with fans never knowing who will pop up next.
Kroll's memorable characters from the series will invade the web with feature episode previews, highlights and bios on the "Kroll Show" Web site. Beginning in January, some of Kroll's characters will enter the world of social media allowing fans to interact with them directly, including a Bobby Bottleservice Twitter account, a PubLIZity Pinterest page and a Rich Dicks Instagram Tumblr (a parody of Rich Kids of Instagram), among others. In addition, the "Kroll Show" Facebook page will be updated multiple times each week with the latest content from the show.
Episodes from "Kroll Show" will be available in SD and HD the day after air on iTunes, Xbox Video, Amazon Instant Video, Sony PlayStation Store, Vudu and Samsung Media Hub.
"Kroll Show" is executive produced and written by Kroll, John Levenstein ("Arrested Development") and Jonathan Krisel ("Portlandia"), who is also directing. Jon Daly ("Happy Endings") serves as Supervising Producer and actor in the series. Jim Sharp and Monika Zielinska are the Executives in Charge of Production for COMEDY CENTRAL.
