OJP to Participate in Bullying Prevention Summit -- Mary Lou Leary, OJP's Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General, will speak at the Department of Education's Bullying Summit on Thursday, Aug. 12, at 8:30 a.m. at the Washington Hilton Hotel, 1919 Connecticut Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. Her remarks will focus on the importance of research about prevention of bullying. In addition, Ms. Leary will introduce Tom Perrelli, Associate Attorney General. Upcoming Events:
OJP representatives will speak at a plenary session and a public hearing at the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) 2010 Summer Training Institute. During the plenary session on Monday, Aug. 16, at 8:30 a.m., officials from OJP's components will discuss prisoner reentry and other community corrections issues. The public hearing on victim issues on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 8:30 a.m., will include eight invited victim witnesses who will provide oral testimony to "listeners" from OJP, the Office on Violence Against Women, and APPA.
