Novation Recognizes 27 suppliers for excellence in supporting members of VHA, UHC, Children's Hospital Association and Provista
IRVING, Texas, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Novation, the leading health care supply chain expertise, analytics and contracting company for VHA Inc., UHC, Children's Hospital Association and Provista, LLC, recognized 27 suppliers for excellence in 2013. The awards were presented yesterday during Novation's annual Supplier Summit.
In addition to recognizing health care suppliers in several categories, Novation also honored PNC Bank with the third annual Mark McKenna award for Supplier of the Year, in honor of the former president and CEO of Novation from 1999 through 2006. McKenna passed away in October of 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer. His distinguished career in supply chain management and supply cost control spanned 30 years with medical device manufacturers as well as provider-owned group purchasing organizations. The award continues McKenna's legacy of putting hospitals and patients first.
"Supplier Summit provides a great opportunity for Novation and the health care supplier community to come together to further address the challenges of this constantly evolving health care industry," said Pete Allen, Area Senior Vice President, Sourcing Operations, Novation. "It's another way for us to bring additional insight into helping the hospitals, academic medical centers and pediatric organizations we serve especially as they face several challenges driven by health care reform.
