Notification regarding a Data Breach Suffered by Sabre Hospitality Solutions Affecting Reservations Made at La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa
MONTGOMERY, Texas, Aug. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa (the "Hotel") reports a data breach suffered by Sabre Hospitality Solutions, an independent service provider to the Hotel. Sabre, a company that helps book reservations for the Hotel through call centers, travel agencies, online travel agencies, and similar booking services, informed the Hotel that an unauthorized party gained access to Sabre's SynXis Central Reservations system. Specifically, Sabre's investigation determined that, between August 10, 2016 and March 9, 2017, the unauthorized party was able to view credit and debit card information for certain hotel reservations processed through Sabre's system.
This data breach did not involve any systems at the Hotel or any information that guests provided to the Hotel directly.
The Hotel is currently working with Sabre to ensure they evaluate and improve their data security in the wake of the incident, and is notifying affected guests about the incident so that they can take appropriate precautions. Sabre has advised the Hotel that it has already notified law enforcement, the major credit bureaus and the payment card brands about the incident.
According to information provided by Sabre, the unauthorized party was able to access payment card information for hotel reservation(s), including cardholder name; card number; card expiration date; and, potentially, the card security code. The unauthorized party may also have been able to access customer information such as guest name, email, phone number, street address, and other contact information, if those items were included with the reservation. Sabre has assured the Hotel that sensitive information such as Social Security number or passport or driver's license number was not included in the affected data.
Affected customers should remain vigilant for incidents of fraud and identity theft by regularly reviewing account statements and monitoring free credit reports for any unauthorized activity. If you discover any suspicious or unusual activity on your accounts, be sure to report it immediately to your financial institutions and issuers of your credit or debit card, as payment card brands have rules that restrict them from requiring you to pay for fraudulent charges if they are timely reported.
You can learn more about this incident and measures that are available to help protect yourself from credit card fraud on your account by visiting the Hotel's website at http://www.latorrettalakeresort.com/ and Sabre's website at www.sabreconsumernotice.com or call Sabre at 1-888-721-6305 (Toll-Free).
La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa deeply regrets and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this incident and remain committed to protecting all information entrusted to them by their guests.
