KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nordic Windpower announced today Jeff Brown has been appointed CEO and Director. A renewable energy leader with nearly 30 years of experience at GE and GE Energy, Brown had been COO of Nordic Windpower since 2008. Brown succeeds Tom Carbone, CEO since March 2009, who will resume the independent product and development activities he managed prior to joining the company.

A certified Six Sigma Quality Leader and Master Blackbelt, Brown is a product development, project management, manufacturing, and quality executive with nearly three decades of experience at General Electric.
Most recently, he was Region General Manager Contractual Services at GE Energy, with responsibility for long-term service contracts to maintain heavy gas and steam turbines in the power industry. During his tenure at GE Energy's Contractual Services, his portfolio averaged 70% annual sales growth, increasing sales fourfold over six years to $400M. In GE Energy he also held the positions of General Manager, Customer Quality and New Product Introduction Manager. At GE Aircraft Controls, he was Manager of Analog and Test for military and commercial engines, and earlier Quality Assurance Manager. While at GE Aircraft Engines, he served as F404 Production Program Manager, Value Engineering Manager and Sourcing Manager for Controls and Accessories. He began his career on the Manufacturing Management Program in GE Locomotive.
A graduate in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University, Mr. Brown received an MBA from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
