"We strive to be the best we can for our employees and our customers and are honored to be included as a top place to work in Latin America for the second consecutive year," said Steve Shindler, chief executive officer of NII Holdings. "We greatly value this recognition from Great Place to Work as it displays the commitment and dedication of our employees to our company and reflects their pride in delivering innovative, differentiated and high quality products and services to our customers."
NII Holdings ranked 19th in the survey this year. The survey includes multinationals that have been recognized in at least three national lists within Latin America in the past year, have at least 1,000 employees globally, and have 40 percent of its global workforce working outside the home country. This study is the largest of workplace practice studies of its kind. To prepare this global ranking Great Place to Work® assessed the local results of employee satisfaction surveys and the results of audits analyzing the companies' human resources policies and practices among other sources.
This is NII Holdings' second appearance on the Top 25 Best Places to Work among Multinationals in Latin America. This recognition confirms the company's already strong reputation for implementing leading workplace practices in Latin America. The company has also been named a top place to work in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru in 2011 by the Great Place to Work® Institute and several other premier workplace organizations and media outlets.
"At NII and across our Nextel markets, we strive to create an environment in which our employees feel free to mold the culture, speak their minds, embrace diversity and encourage collaboration," said Gokul Hemmady, chief operating officer of NII Holdings. "This honor goes to our Nextel employees, who all contribute to the culture that makes NII Holdings and our Latin American operations great places to work."
