NEW YORK, Oct. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- New York Women in Communications Foundation will host the 2015 Student Communications Career Conference, on Saturday, November 7th at NYU's Kimmel Center in New York City. The conference allows students to gain insight and learn from experts in the communications industry who can provide advice and career tips, as well as share challenges they have faced navigating the rapidly changing landscape of communications.
Kicking off with keynote speaker Amy Odell, Editor, Cosmopolitan.com, the full-day event includes networking opportunities, informative panel discussions, Q&As and access to some of the most influential women in media. The various panel discussions will include conversations about content, building your personal brand, secrets to a successful job search, fashion & beauty, entrepreneurship, on–air television & radio broadcasting, marketing, public relations, advertising, non-profits, sports and entertainment.

In addition, the New York Women in Communications Foundation Scholarship application will open on November 7 and high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Each year, the foundation awards scholarships in the amounts of $2,500-$10,000 to recipients who intend to pursue or further a career in communications. Many of the scholarships also come with a prestigious internship at a leading company in New York City. Scholarship winners will be recognized at the organization's annual Matrix Awards alongside prominent industry leaders.
