New York Center For Children To Hold its 19th Annual Spring Gala at the Glamorous Peninsula Hotel
NEW YORK, May 22, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- On Thursday, May 29th, the New York Center for Children (NYCC), one of the only not-for-profit organizations in New York City to offer free therapy to victims of child abuse, will hold its 19th Annual Spring Gala at The Bar at Clement Restaurant, the newest addition to The Peninsula New York.
"The NYCC is committed to providing services to New York's neediest children, and we're very excited to share some of our success stories," says Carolyn Ryan, NYCC board member and co-chair of NYCC's Spring Gala. "We owe so much of our continued success to generous donations, and we are delighted that The Peninsula Hotel will be hosting this year's event."
During the reception, guests will enjoy a sampling of Bar at Clement's newly debuted menu and specialty cocktails while learning about the New York Center for Children's services. In attendance will be some of the NYCC's prominent Board Members, including Nancy Novogrod, Editor in Chief of Travel + Leisure Magazine; design duo Andy and Kate Spade; Pilar Guzman, Editor In Chief of Conde Nast Traveler; and Jonathan Crook, General Manager of The Peninsula New York.
To help spread the word as the evening unfolds, the NYCC has created a special hashtag for all attendees to use on Twitter. Look for photos and tweets with the hashtag #NYCCgala2014. For every time the hashtag is used from 6:30 p.m. onward on May 29th, a board member will donate $1 to the Center. In addition, the NYCC will be taking over the Peninsula Hotel's Instagram account, @thepeninsulanyc, for the duration of the event.
"We're so pleased to support NYCC's Spring Gala on Instagram, which is an innovative and fun way to spread the word and also raise funds for this worthy organization." says Jonathan Crook, General Manager, The Peninsula New York.
All proceeds from the Spring Gala will be donated to NYCC. A silent auction with exclusive items will also benefit the organization and will include: a trip to the soon-to-be-opened Peninsula Paris (including two tickets on Air France); a Membership to the Peninsula Spa and Fitness Club; an all-inclusive stay at the Malliouhana Resort on Anguilla; an all-inclusive stay at the Eden Roc at Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic; a stay at Iceland's new Ion Luxury Hotel; a stay at the newly opened Quin Hotel NY; a gift certificate for a facial Howard Sobel Dermatology; and framed artwork by NYCC clients.
