New Vice President Will Manage Information Technology Areas for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama has named Scot Hanley Vice President of Professional Services Organization. Beginning April 1, 2010, Hanley will be responsible for overseeing Business IT Partners, Quality Management and IT Project Management.

“In joining our IT team, Scot brings 17 years of project management experience in both technology and business,” said Scott McGlaun, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.
Hanley, a native of Columbus, Georgia, previously served as Senior Manager and Executive Program Director for technology consulting firm CTS, Inc., former vice president for Synovus Financial Corporation, and a management consultant for Cap Gemini Ernst and Young, LLC. After serving his country in Operation Desert Storm, he received his U.S. Army Commission and a bachelor's degree from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. Hanley is certified by the Project Management Institute and carries the Microsoft Certified Professional credential for his knowledge in database programming.
