New Training Programs Encourage Bahraini Employment
MANAMA, Bahrain, Feb. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Three new employee-training programs worth $12.7 million will place nearly 1,000 Bahrainis in new jobs.
The programs—organized by Bahrain's independent labor authority, Tamkeen, in partnership with Ernst & Young, the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance and the Bahrain International Retail Development Centre—will focus on finance and accounting, warehouse management and marketing.
"This is just one of our many initiatives that will help bring us one step closer towards reaching our vision of empowering Bahrainis to prosper and contribute to the national economy," Tamkeen's Chief Executive Mr. Mahmood Hashem Al-Kooheji said. "I am confident that we will be able to achieve this goal in cooperation with our partners."
Business and marketing-related Bachelors and Masters degree graduates will receive six months of workshop and on-the-job training.
"We are continuously seeking ways in which to train, develop, and empower Bahraini individuals by offering innovative training programs that meet current and future labor market needs," Al-Kooheji said. "We have developed these programs bearing in mind that these sectors are viable sources of value-added employment and training opportunities for Bahrainis."
The training programs are set to begin this quarter.
