New England's First "Gun Country Club" Opens in Weston
WESTON, Mass., Jan. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Weston Shooters Club, New England's first luxury private shooting club, represents a new format where country club meets gun club. There are less than a dozen clubs of this format existing in America and Weston Shooters Club is the first in New England. It is conveniently located at 8 Sibley Road in Weston, MA, at the junction of routes 95 & 20. The brand new facility is now open and accepting membership applications. For more information, visit www.westonshootersclub.com.
A gun club with all the amenities of a high-end country club, Weston Shooters Club is the first of its kind in the region. The club occupies a brand new facility that houses a state of the art 8-lane indoor shooting range, locker room, board room, and a clubhouse lounge with leather couches, wide screen TVs, WiFi, table top games, and a kitchenette.
The training staff at the club offers members a variety of instructional classes ranging from basic firearms safety to more advanced classes. The private club will hold social gatherings and charity events as well as weekend activities for the entire family.
Weston Shooters Club is "not your ordinary shooting range," founder Victor Grillo said. Modeled after a club in his home state of Florida, the club "is a country club where shooting enthusiasts can enjoy their sport as well as the social aspects of a traditional country club with likeminded people."
"We wanted to create a place where people could gather before and after shooting and watch a sports game on TV, play cards, or enjoy the camaraderie of good friends," Grillo said. "We want the social aspect to be as important as the shooting, and we want members to consider the club a destination, whether they are shooting or not."
Weston Shooters Club is the latest in a nationwide trend of so-called "guntry" clubs that cater to professionals with a passion for firearms and a taste for luxury. The club's range is perfect for avid shooters, featuring electric target carriers as well as an advanced air filtration system and sound deadening technology. Members who are seated in the clubhouse's lounge area can view the range via a televised live feed.
Grillo emphasized that the club has taken every precaution to ensure the security of its members and the surrounding community. Prospective members must have a valid and current Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms and will be screened by the club's Membership Committee. The club also employs cutting edge biometric access technology.
Weston Shooters Club opened its doors on October 17, 2014, and already has over 300 members. "The club has limited memberships available, so prospective members should apply soon," Grillo said.
