New Downtown Restaurant, M Club Debut at Completely Reimagined Oakland Marriott City Center
Iron & Oak Restaurant and Bar sources local ingredients for daily breakfast, lunch and dinner items
OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- A new restaurant and M Club have recently opened at Oakland Marriott City Center, completing the Northern California hotel's multi-million-dollar renovation project.
Iron & Oak Restaurant and Bar debuts with an Oaklandish-designed logo and the best of locally sourced ingredients on its robust breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. Furthering the city's booming culinary scene, Chef Angel Chinn-Morales creates globally inspired dishes with a bounty of regionally sourced products that come together to provide out-of-town visitors and Bay Area residents a destination for wholesome, flavorful fare. From loaded tots and a beet and burrata salad to the decadent, family-style big beast board, there's something on the menu for all diners to enjoy at the new Downtown Oakland restaurant. Also featured are specialty cocktails including The Oak Spirit and Oakland's Garden Martini in addition to domestic and imported beers and wines by the ounce or bottle.
Iron and oak are two of the most iconic elements associated with Oakland. Iron references the shipyards and commerce that have kept the city relevant on a global scale throughout history, while oak refers to the fabled groves from which O-Town derives its name. When used in conjunction, the words connote an evergreen sense of quality, craft and longevity.
The new M Club, Marriott's private retreat for Elite Marriott Rewards members, offers sleek and functional spaces to work, recharge, connect and relax with the convenience of complimentary snacks, beverages and food options. The space provides complimentary Wi-Fi access and is open 24 hours with guest room key access.
The design concept for both spaces, created by Paradigm Design Group, is described as industrial powerhouse meets urban graffiti and intentionally highlights the building's bold structural beams with natural light while balancing them with soft, organic materials in the furniture – some of which is whimsically built directly into the beams.
The 500 guest rooms and suites at the Oakland hotel were recently reimagined as well and now feature a Marriott concept that makes local inspiration and artwork the focal point. Several suites have been selected to reflect a special theme – all with a local spin. The first will feature Oaklandish, Oakland's iconic brand of apparel that has a sole mission to spread "local love" by way of civic pride-evoking tees and accessories while creating quality inner city jobs for locals. The brand is known for giving back to the people and places that maintain the city's trailblazer spirit.
