New Business Models Key to CSP Profitability, Differentiation
Telcordia demonstrates its strengths with speakers at Management World 2010, Participates in COMPASS, WAVES Catalyst Projects
PISCATAWAY, N.J., May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Telcordia, a global leader in the development of IP, wireline, and mobile telecommunications software and services, will discuss how communications service providers (CSPs) can realize profitable, new revenues through differentiated services, gain greater return on their network investment, and achieve superior operational efficiencies during TM Forum's Management World 2010, to be held May 18-20 in Nice, France. Via numerous presentations and interactive sessions, Telcordia will be providing expertise, guidance and education on a broad spectrum of topics including mass market broadband, mobile and enterprise services.
Telcordia Chief Strategy Officer Adan Pope will present a view of how CSPs need to expose assets and processes to third parties in order to remain a relevant partner in the Telco 2.0 value chain and take advantage of new business models.
"CSPs can realize the potential offered by two-sided or advertising-driven business models where they can make access to their core competencies and processes more readily available to others in the Telco 2.0 value chain," said Pope. "Consumers want a personalized experience; advertisers want to target those preferences; and content providers want to deliver their offers in an interactive, real-time context. CSPs want to build new revenue streams by monetizing assets that are required by this mass-customized environment. To do so, B/OSS will have to become more transparent, and become more of a front-office profit center than a cost center."
Telcordia will also participate in the Catalog Data-Driven Order Automation Catalyst (COMPASS) Project, which will show how a catalog-driven architecture can be used to orchestrate and automate the fulfillment of new services. The project is the result of the collaboration among T-Com Croatia, GDi Systems (formerly GISDATA), Progress Software, and Telcordia.
Additionally, Telcordia will be part of the Dynamic Content Delivery (WAVES) Project, which is helping to define a solution for users who want the capability to watch their licensed content when and where they want -- on the most convenient device at hand. This project is the result of collaboration among Microsoft, Tribold, and Telcordia.
