Netherlands-Based Insurance Company Accelerates Claims Process; Improves Customer Satisfaction With EMC Documentum xCP
UVIT Recognized for Best Customer Facing Case Management Application
HOPKINTON, Mass., July 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) today announced that UNIVE -VGZ-IZA-Trias group (UVIT), an insurance company based in the Netherlands, is relying on EMC® Documentum® xCP, a composition platform for building dynamic business applications and an action engine for Big Data, to process millions of insurance claims.
UVIT has more than 150 satellite offices and about 4.2 million customers throughout the Netherlands. UVIT chose EMC Documentum xCP for a case management application to automate its claims processing and automate an outdated, largely paper-based processes. UVIT requires Dutch-language support and the ability to automatically enable control retention periods as laws stipulated that all bills, letters and contracts must be retained for seven years, and certain medical files be kept for 15 years.
The EMC solution dramatically reduced UVIT's time to locate claims and enrollment documents and substantially improved customer service. Customer service agents can now find relevant documents in less than three seconds. Employees now have instant access to customer documentation, which has helped improve customer response rates and the overall processing efficiency. Claims are also paid quicker which increases customer satisfaction. The company processed over three million customer claims in 2010 and anticipates scaling to 50 million in the near future.
"EMC Documentum xCP has streamlined our claims processes substantially. Claims adjusters now have access to the documents they need within a few seconds only, and the incidence of misplaced documents has decreased. We are very satisfied with the solution," said Pierre Kraakman, Business Analyst at UVIT.
Additionally, UVIT recently won a 2011 Global Award for Excellence in Adaptive Case Management for its deployment and usage of EMC Documentum xCP. The annual award is jointly sponsored by Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) and KMWorld. Case Management is a technological approach to supporting knowledge workers. Case Management applications automate dynamic business processes and deliver information in context in order to improve worker productivity and the quality of their business decisions.
