Nearly 230 State-Owned Vehicles to be Offered at Aug. 15 Public Auction
Sale will Include High-End, Unique Vehicles Seized by Office of Attorney General
HARRISBURG, Pa., Aug. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Nearly 230 state-owned vehicles will be offered at public auction on Monday, Aug. 15, with revenues being returned to the commonwealth, the Department of General Services said today.
The one-day auction will start at 10 a.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at noon.
The auction will feature several high-end or unique vehicles seized by the Office of the Attorney General, including a 2001 BMW 525i; a 2004 BMW 745i; a 2001 Jaguar S-Type; and a 1964 Mercury Caliente. Motorcycles from manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki and Suzuki will also be available.
Other vehicles being sold will include those formerly used by state agencies or seized by state law enforcement agencies.
The auction will be coordinated by Manheim Auto Auctions, located at 488 Firehouse Road, Grantville, PA, 17028. Buyers may purchase with cash or certified funds in the form of money orders, cashier's checks, certified checks or bank checks – all made payable to "Manheim Central Penn Auto Auction."
