NBR Worldwide Names Ferrell Executive Vice President of Operations/CFO
NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- NBR Worldwide, Inc., the owner of PBS' Nightly Business Report (NBR), today announced that Gary Ferrell has been appointed the company's Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Ferrell will be responsible for overseeing NBR Worldwide's daily production of, and personnel responsibilities for, Nightly Business Report, the nation's most-watched daily business news program. Mr. Ferrell will be instrumental in continuing to grow the program's content through current and future strategic partnerships such as ones recently executed with Planet Forward and Horrow Sports' "Beyond the $coreboard."

"Gary has overseen over 250 public television productions throughout his career as either a CEO or CFO. Mr. Ferrell has worked in public television for more than 24 years. He is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of North Texas Public Broadcasting Inc. (NTPB), which owns and operates one of the largest member stations - KERA television in Dallas; the former Chief Financial Officer of KCET public television in Los Angeles where he was responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the station; and the former Chairman of the Public Television Major Market Group (PTMMG), a board consisting of the chief executives from the public television system's largest stations. He most recently served as President of Public Media, a new media company that specializes in production, graphic design and web development.
Mr. Ferrell will report directly to Mr. Kontilai. Rob Sparks, who had served as interim COO, has been appointed Chief Legal Officer.
