SAN RAMON, Calif., May 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlas Lift Tech is pleased to announce their support of the American Nurses Association and National Nurses Week, which is celebrated annually in the U.S. May 6th through 12th. Atlas, a safe patient handling and mobility programmatic services provider, recognizes the great value that the nurses offer, providing profound care for their patients and ensuring the health and wellbeing of our nation's population.
Atlas will be handing out Certificates of Appreciation to nurses at participating facilities nationwide, for the care and compassion they demonstrate daily through safe patient handling and mobility. By taking the effort to mobilize their patients early and often, these nurses are ensuring progressive care, and reducing the many health issues that come as a result of immobility.
Eric Race, President and Founder of Atlas Lift Tech:
"Nurses are at the very heart of healthcare. Their dedication and commitment to the patient, often to the detriment of their own health, calls for the utmost respect and appreciation. At Atlas, we spend every day working with these incredible nurses, and we couldn't be prouder to give back to the women and men who care for us all."
Ken Meehan, former EVP of Operations for John Muir Medical Center
"Nurses are special and different. For them it's not about accomplishments, it's about a passionate vocation. It's about caring and compassion! Holding a patient's hand before a complicated procedure or surgery. Reassuring them or their family that they are receiving the best care possible. The Atlas team takes care of nurses so that they can help take care of you."
The relationship between the American Nurses Association and Atlas Lift Tech has developed across years of working together in the safe patient handling and mobility space. Through the partnership, Atlas Lift Tech and the American Nurses Association developed the SPHM Toolkit: an online resource for the evaluation and implementation of sustainable safe patient handling programs, as they align with the ANA's Interprofessional National Standards of SPHM.
Every nurse who is issued a Certificate of Appreciation by Atlas Lift Tech is eligible to enter a drawing to win an Apple Watch as an extra thank you for the great work they do year-round. In addition to handing out certificates, the "Mobility is Medicine" forum will kick off encouraging individuals in the industry to recognize nurses. They can be recognized with a statement of how a nurse contributed to the mobility of another person. The forum will ultimately be a place to interact, share best practices and collaborate.
