HAMPTON, Va., Sept. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NASA today announced the selection of Spaceworks Enterprises, Inc., for a contract award in support of NASA Langley Research Center's Systems Analysis and Concepts Directorate here.

The Atlanta-based company was awarded the contract after a competitive selection, and will be responsible for providing independent assessments and services including such things as: conceptual hypersonic and launch vehicle design; performance, cost and risk characteristics of systems to support development and assessment activities for robotics systems, crewed and unscrewed systems, and surface systems; and independent science mission analysis.
Spaceworks Enterprises work will support Langley's SACD organization as it develops and delivers advanced concepts, systems analyses and multidisciplinary methods in support of Agency Projects, Programs and Mission Directorates, as well as for NASA's Chief Engineer and the Office of the Chief Technologist.
The contract performance period is five years with a maximum total value of $9.5 million.
