Pressure continues to mount against NASCAR and Its Sponsors.
Saturday, October 10th
WASHINGTON, Oct. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Minority Youth Movement (MYMM) will join Minister Louis Farrakhan and the African American Community's Leadership at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. this weekend during the 20th Anniversary Commemoration of the Million Man March. The theme of the 20th for the march this year is "Justice or Else." The march will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015, in Washington D.C. at the National Mall.
MYMM will meet with minority leaders before and march to discuss the solutions necessary to ending the blatant lack of disrespect and bigotry organizations such as NASCAR have exhibited for decades against minorities. These organizations are: NASCAR, Bank of America, Sprint. Chevrolet, Budweiser, M&M, Snicker/Mars, Xfinity/Comcast, Sunoco, Ford Motor, Toyota, Mobile 1, Dollar General, Goodyear, Cheerios, Menards, PepsiCo, Sherwin-Williams, Lowe's, McDonald's, 5 hour energy drink, and Furniture Row. By supporting NASCAR and spending their marketing dollars to promote and sponsor NASCAR's events the above named organizations are just as guilty as NASCAR and must be held accountable.
NASCAR's sponsors must end their practice of supporting NASCAR who denies minorities access to the Motorsports industry. Additionally, they must end their practice of supporting organizations that continue to promote racism and bigotry here in America. NASCAR has excluded minority participation in their industry for 68 years! We demand! "Justice or Else." MYMM will continue to bring attention to the lack of minority participation in NASCAR Motorsports because since 1948 NASCAR leadership has promoted racism and we will no longer look the other way! Utilizing this national stage, we will call for a boycott of NASCAR and its sponsors. The movement joins Farrakhan and the Million Man March to proliferate the awareness of this issue that continues to fester in surround NASCAR today; injustice, segregation and bigotry that continues to surround NASCAR.
50 percent of NASCAR's sponsored revenue comes from the minority communities, and it is criminal that we the minority community must go through these measures to obtain NASCAR sponsors support regarding this issue. Therefore, MYMM will join the Million Man March in calling for the boycott of Christmas and will include NASCAR's sponsors in this national boycott. MYMM realize that the only way of getting through to NASCAR regarding the severity of this issue by impacting their bottom line, financially, and we have no problem with that. "Justice or Else!" NASCAR sponsors must today start withdrawing their marketing dollars from NASCAR.
MYMM realize that the only way of getting through to NASCAR is through their sponsors and their bottom line and we don't have a problem with doing that. "Justice or Else"
