Multiple Sclerosis Foundation Announces "Orange Is the New Black" In Observance of National MS Education and Awareness Month
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation will officially launch their "Orange 4 MSF" campaign on Monday, February 16th to promote MS awareness. Since orange is the official color of awareness, MSF would like the public to show their support by taking a selfie with an orange and then posting it on social media with #orange4msf. The foundation is hoping to garner even more attention by encouraging celebrities, musical artists and professional athletes across the country to post their selfies with oranges on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
"We're really excited about the social media aspect of this campaign, because it will call attention to a disease that is often overlooked," said Nathalie Sloane, Development Director for MSF. "We're hoping the #orange4msf campaign goes viral and helps spread the word about multiple sclerosis throughout the country, if not the world."
In addition, March is National MS Education and Awareness Month. To commemorate this occasion, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation will be hosting an "Orange You Happy" Hour on Thursday, March 12th. The orange-themed event will take place from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Pavilion Grille in Boca Raton. Tickets are $25 per person and will benefit MSF.
Guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, while perusing various silent auction items up for bid. Plus, there will be raffle prizes awarded to a few lucky attendees. The Pavilion Grille (www.paviliongrille.com) will be offering a special dinner menu, with a portion of the food and beverage sales going to MSF, to encourage guests to stay later and enjoy live entertainment.
