NEW YORK, Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Movemeant Foundation, a nationally recognized non-profit organization, and Sweaty Betty, London's leading activewear brand, are bringing the country's largest body-positive fundraising events, 'Dare To Bare', to New York City on October 1st.
Empowering women to use fitness as a way to find self-confidence, self-esteem and positive body image, Dare To Bare hosts thousands of participants and spectators who raise money by participating in inspiring, high-energy group fitness classes. With attendees encouraged to participate in their Sweaty Betty sports bras, the event is designed to demonstrate to women of all ages, particularly young girls, that all body types are strong and should be celebrated.
"Dare To Bare is a day to recognize and celebrate beauty in all its different shapes and sizes," said Jenny Gaither, Founder of Movemeant Foundation. "Together, Movemeant Foundation and Sweaty Betty are committed to inspiring women to find empowerment through fitness. The funds we raise will help provide access to life-changing health and fitness programs that can help transform the lives of women and girls."
Taking place in Union Square, Movemeant Foundation and Sweaty Betty are excited to welcome instructors from some of the city's most acclaimed fitness companies to Dare To Bare including SoulCycle, DOGPOUND, Dailey Method, Akin's Army, SURFSET NYC, Lyon's Den Power Yoga and 305Fitness, which will also offer two free classes open to the public.
In addition to attendees, instructors and VIPs will also be outfitted in head-to-toe Sweaty Betty wearing the brands Power leggings along with the branded Dare To Bare sports bra. Sweaty Betty will also have an onsite presence with a curated Pop-Up Shop, a fun unique British phone booth photo opportunity and complimentary monogramming with any purchase made that day.
"I am thrilled to partner with Movemeant Foundation this year," says Tamara Hill-Norton, Founder and Creative Director of Sweaty Betty. "Sweaty Betty is all about making women feel amazing and as a Mum of two daughters, I find it so empowering to see Jenny and her team working to increase female self-confidence, and together I feel we can help drive the message even further."
Movemeant Foundation is also excited to announce a new scholarship program with She Plays We Win and Christin Rose, a Los Angeles-based photographer whose pictures capture the empowerment of female athleticism. The grants help to fuel the positive influence sport and fitness can have on young women and are awarded to a variety of young female athletes, from economically-disadvantaged communities with high incidences of health-risk behaviors to rising athletes who require additional resources for mental, physical and emotional coaching.
This year, a walkable gallery of Christin Rose's She Plays We Win photography will be displayed at Dare to Bare. In addition, Movemeant Foundation and She Plays We Win will also announces $10,000 worth of scholarships to young women in New York. They will provide $1,000 grant scholarship per girl, with a total of 10 girls who can qualify. For additional information and to apply, please visit http://movemeantfoundation.org/sheplayswewin/

"The She Plays We Win project came to life as a powerful outlet using my career in photography to shine a light on young women in sport. I am thrilled to partner with Movemeant Foundation to further support fierce girls in the game through the She Plays We Win grant. Together, we can continue to celebrate confidence and empower women - no matter what sport they play, where they grow up, or what their circumstances entail."
This year's event is also a greener event, which means no plastic water bottles will be sold or distributed on site thanks to the hydration station provided by CamelBak. Rounding out the sponsor zone are healthy, nutrition food and beverage, like the newest, low-sugar, gluten-free flavors from LUNA® Whole Nutrition Bars. Guests will also find Misha, a German-style quark yogurt; Rebbl's coconut milk elixirs infused with healthy herbs; fresh-squeezed, all-natural juices from Natalie's Orchid Island Juice Company; and creamy, yet clean frozen soft-serve and fruit pops from Chloe's Fruit.
