More Verizon FiOS TV Customers Can Now Get 'Visual 411' Directory Assistance
Company's Latest Widget Makes It Quick and Easy to Find a Business in the Neighborhood or Across the Country
NEW YORK, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon's FiOS TV Visual 411 directory assistance widget has people wanting more – more information, that is. Visual 411, first introduced to FiOS TV customers in the Dallas area in November, is now available to FiOS TV customers in eleven states and the District of Columbia.
"Business search has evolved over the years in the way consumers can access contact numbers and addresses for neighborhood favorites or cross-country businesses," said Pedro Correa, president of Verizon LiveSource directory assistance services. "Now we can offer the convenience of easy searching with a few simple clicks of the TV remote."
The Visual 411 Widget enables customers to search by business name, type of business or keywords such as "automotive" or "florist." With the FiOS TV remote control, users can access the menu-driven feature and easily navigate through a type of business search. There is an onscreen keyboard, for those who prefer to enter a business name or keyword. In addition, users can change search locations and look up recent searches.
The FiOS TV screen also displays a location map in much the same way an online search option does and displays the address and phone number even as viewers continue to enjoy the show they are watching. With the zoom-in and zoom-out mapping feature, users can easily identify cross-streets and major intersections. The TV screen enables viewing by multiple individuals and provides high-quality visuals. To access the widget, users can go to the FiOS TV widgets home screen, scroll down to the Visual 411 application and select it.
In addition to the District of Columbia, Visual 411 is available in California, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia.
FiOS TV offers a broad collection of programming, with more than 565 all-digital channels, including more than 140 HD channels, and more than 18,000 monthly video-on-demand (VOD) titles. FiOS provides next-generation interactive services including an advanced interactive media guide; social TV, news and entertainment widgets; remote DVR management; multi-room DVR, and more.
