Montreal-based video game voiceover leader Game On Audio expands to L.A. with industry player Amanda Wyatt
MONTREAL, June 9 /PRNewswire/ - In response to the overwhelming demand for high-quality voiceover recording and editorial for video games, Montreal-based sound studios Game On Audio will officially open their Los Angeles studio facility in September 2010. Well-known voiceover director Amanda Wyatt will coordinate the expansion and act as the company's new Los Angeles Studio Director and Lead Voice Director.
As an eight-year outsource provider to publishers such as Ubisoft, Atari and Electronic Arts, Game On Audio has recorded dialogue and produced the audio post-production on over 100 popular titles, ranging from Electronic Arts' Army of Two to Ubisoft's Prince of Persia and Assassins Creed.
Ms. Wyatt's previous credits include most notably Halo Wars and Crackdown 2 from Microsoft Game Studios, as well as Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 from Ubisoft.
Prior to her career in casting and directing voice over for games, Ms. Wyatt served as the Voiceover Business Manager at Soundelux DMG for over six years.
"In just eight years Game On Audio has gone from one of the first video game sound specialists in Montreal to worldwide audio production with partner studios around the world," said Samuel Girardin, Game On Audio's CEO. "Reflecting the synergies of video game production between Montreal and Los Angeles, we're now proud to welcome Amanda Wyatt to our team. With more than 50 games under her belt, Amanda understands how critical it is to ensure that the sound, music, and voiceover assets work together to create a cohesive soundtrack for the game. With this L.A. announcement, we're positioning ourselves to become the leading voiceover 'one-stop shop' for the gaming industry."
Ms. Wyatt added: "I am very excited to join the Game On Audio team, and to be part of building something truly innovative from the ground up here in L.A. Both Samuel and I believe that voice in video games is the most human element the player identifies with. This is why we go to great lengths to ensure the player has the ability to become emotionally connected and invested in the characters."
