MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileIron, the leader in security and management for mobile apps, content, and devices, today announced its integration with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) v1.2. The integration allows Cisco ISE to leverage MobileIron's management and security capabilities in order to support network access control and dynamically update network privileges based on the state of the device. As a result, users bringing personal devices to work can join the network and be brought into compliance with corporate security policies without the need for IT intervention.

The Identity Services Engine (ISE) is Cisco's next generation solution for Network Admission Control (NAC). NAC assigns network access privileges based on user credentials and attributes, as well as device security posture. With the integration, MobileIron enables ISE to make more intelligent network admission decisions by providing information about the configuration and security state of mobile devices. IT can effectively assess a device's posture, e.g. its security and compliance state, and then tie this posture to mobile-specific policies as well as to existing corporate network enforcement policies.
How it works:
- MobileIron provides dynamic posture assessment for Cisco ISE
- Cisco ISE makes intelligent decisions about network admission and access control
- MobileIron continues to manage and enforce all the settings and policies for apps and content on the mobile device
- New onboarding workflows simplify employee self-service
"Our goal is to deliver the integrations that our customers need to be able to go Mobile First faster," said Ojas Rege, VP Strategy, MobileIron. "This integration of industry-leading network admission control (NAC) and enterprise mobility management (EMM) technology lets MobileIron and Cisco customers extend their mobile security policies to the network and their network policies to their mobile devices. The whole process is fast, efficient, and secure."
