MobileIron Adds 200 Enterprise Mobility Customers in 90 Days and Raises $20M in Series D Funding
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileIron, the leader in enterprise management and security for mobile devices and apps, today announced its $20 million Series D growth financing round. MobileIron has seen explosive company growth, adding 200 enterprise customers in 90 days and increasing its workforce by 30 percent. All four of MobileIron's current investors, Foundation Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital and Storm Ventures, participated in the round. The funding will be used to drive rapid global growth, accelerate initiatives for existing and emerging mobile platforms, and meet the rapidly growing worldwide market demand for mobile device management and security.
The MobileIron platform was built from the ground up to help global companies secure and manage mobile devices and apps in an increasingly complex environment. As businesses become increasingly mobile, IT needs to support multiple operating systems at scale, ensure enterprise data is secure on both corporate and employee-owned devices, and build and deliver mobile apps. MobileIron provides the foundation to manage corporate data on mobile devices, and an Enterprise App Storefront for app discovery and deployment. MobileIron was first to market with critical features, including the first Enterprise App Storefront, certificate-based authentication and apps-based network access control. In April, MobileIron was positioned in the Leaders quadrant of Gartner, Inc.'s Magic Quadrant for Mobile Device Management Software 2011.
"MobileIron manages some of the largest iOS and Android deployments in the world and, from what we've seen among our customers and channel partners, this is only the beginning," said Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron. "We are investing in growth to be the go-to leader for enterprise customers for mobile management, security and apps."
