MobileIron Achieves FedRAMP Authority to Operate
Authorization by United States Postal Service and Available to all Federal Government Agencies
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Dec. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileIron (NASDAQ:MOBL), the security backbone for modern enterprise computing, today announced that the MobileIron Cloud platform received FedRAMP Authority to Operate (ATO) from the United States Postal Service. The FedRAMP Agency ATO recognizes that MobileIron Cloud has passed the federal risk management process defining standard security requirements for all cloud providers.
"The FedRAMP Agency ATO requires rigorous testing to understand the risk posture and compliance of the cloud system to the required FedRAMP security controls. Federal agencies can confidently choose MobileIron Cloud to streamline their mobility programs," said Barry Mainz, President and CEO, MobileIron. "MobileIron has helped government agencies secure their mobile deployments and we continue to demonstrate our commitment to our government customers by achieving this critical government authorization."
FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. The purpose of the FedRAMP program is to save individual agencies the time and money required to do their own information assurance assessment.
This latest authorization comes on the heels of several public sector certifications and approvals for MobileIron:
- Earned Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) approval from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This approval allows U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agencies to deploy MobileIron on both Android and iOS devices within certain DoD networks.
- First company in the world to receive Common Criteria Certification for Mobile Device Management Protection Profile V2 from the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP). NIAP is the United States government initiative, operated by the National Security Agency (NSA), which oversees the national program to evaluate technology products for conformance to Common Criteria. Common Criteria evaluations involve extensive and rigorous testing of the security aspects of a product or system.
