NEW YORK, Jan. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Pixable today announced that Andy Volanakis has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, Andy will report to Founder and CEO Inaki Berenguer and be responsible for global business operations as well as next stage growth objectives of the company.
"Andy's track record in building businesses around mobile media content, as well as his background in business development and strategic marketing, makes him the ideal candidate to lead Pixable during this time of rapid innovation, as the creation and consumption of photos and videos on mobile devices continues to see explosive growth," said Berenguer.
Andy is an established digital business leader with a track record of growth at the intersection of content, marketing and technology. With billions of new photos and videos being shared every month it's easy to miss out on the ones that actually matter to you. Pixable finds the best photos and videos shared on the social Internet -- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Dropbox, or Flickr -- so you never miss an important moment. Pixable provides a unique, personalized browsing experience by aggregating photos from different social networks and then sorting them into fun feeds, like Top Photos of the Day, or Top Videos shared by your friends, in order of their relevance to the user.
"With the continued flood of online social photos and videos across platforms, Pixable's opportunity to streamline and personalize that content only gets bigger," said Volanakis. "I'm thrilled to be part of the team and to help lead the company through its next phase of growth."
Andy will be based at the company's SoHo, NYC headquarters. He holds degrees from Georgetown University (BS) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MBA).
