Mobile Developer Conference China 2013 Held in Beijing
BEIJING, Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Mobile Developer Conference China (MDCC) 2013 was held in Beijing's China National Convention Center from Wednesday to Thursday (Nov 13-14). Co-organized by the China Software Developer Network (CSDN) and Innovation Works, the conference attracted more than 160 business leaders and specialists from prominent mobile operators, platform operators, Internet firms, handset makers, app developers and investment corporations, as well as more than 10,000 participants such as developers, operators, managers and users.
2013 is a new stage for the mobile Internet. The number of PC shipments was surpassed first by the number of smartphone shipments and then by tablet shipments. However the growth rates of smartphones and tablets are declining. Some people who invested in the technology earlier have already reaped the benefits but more developers are facing difficulties from powerful traditional channels, high cost and shrinking profits. At the same time, there are some new opportunities. So what is the future of the mobile industry and how can one grab these opportunities? Following are highlights of the conference.
Highlight 1: Famous instructors
The famous guests included Li Deyi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Baidu's vice president Li Mingyuan; Qualcomm's vice president Shen Jin; Couchbase CEO Bob Wiederhold; Sony's global technical director Goran Andersson, and representatives of famous mobile developers.
Highlight 2: Three summits and exhibitions focusing on hot mobile industries: smart hardware, mobile games, micro-apps
Smart hardware, mobile games and micro-apps are the hottest industries of 2013. During the smart hardware summit, some influential business leaders, innovation teams, designers and developers were highly involved. During the mobile game summit, famous manufacturers, channels and players' representatives were invited to discuss the present and future of mobile games. During the micro-app summit, platform operators such as WeChat, EasyChat, Baidu and Sina shared their experiences.
Highlight 3: Seven theme forums are widely concerned by developers
The themes are platform and technology, product and design, marketing and monetization, start-up and investment, vertical industry applications and O2O, enterprise mobile applications and bring your own device (BYOD).
Highlight 4: Abundant activities for developers
At the exhibition for mobile development tools, more than 20 mainstream companies communicated with developers face-to-face. The conference also made a list of the most common used development tools and showed them in the form of a "periodic table of the elements."
Highlight 5: Fun salon
According to the different demands of the participants, many parties were held. This gave developers a chance to communicate with specialists and instructors face-to-face in an informal setting.
