LOS ANGELES, June 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobcrush, the livestreaming app and community for gamers, announced the official launch of their mobile, desktop, and web apps today. Releasing globally for the 1.8 billion gamers around the world, Mobcrush is available now for free on the Apple App Store, Mac App Store and Google Play, giving players the simplest way to stream and connect around their favorite games, creators and content.
Unlike other video platforms that require 3rd party software and additional hardware to stream, Mobcrush built their own applications that enable gamers to broadcast gameplay from iOS and Android devices, with just a single touch. Mobcrush has paired this broadcast technology with mobile apps for viewing broadcasts, and their own streaming and chat infrastructure, enabling the company to create integrated experiences across these pillars unlike any other gaming-focused video platform.
"We started Mobcrush to solve our own challenges around broadcasting mobile games and quickly found that there was incredible interest in an authentic, purpose-built app for mobile gamers to both create and connect," said Royce Disini, Mobcrush CEO and Co-Founder. "Today, we're excited to launch Mobcrush on five platforms globally and can't wait to see what players, developers and creators will contribute to our community."
Mobcrush concludes a successful beta period today, which saw tens of thousands of new players per month join Mobcrush, driven primarily through word of mouth. The company's easy-to-use broadcast technology led a five-times-greater percentage of Mobcrush users to become content creators, as compared to other streaming platforms. Broadcasters typically livestreamed for at least an hour per day on the platform. In the beta, the Mobcrush community typically spent upwards of ten thousand hours per day watching broadcasts, while exchanging millions of chat messages per month.
"Mobcrush is revolutionizing the way we stream," said Matthew "iChase" Chase, an early Mobcrush broadcaster and gaming personality. "I hit broadcast and I'm live. All the streaming features are built right into the Mobcrush app, letting me focus on creating entertaining content and responding to my viewers, instead of struggling with complicated set-up and technology."
Mobcrush's launch comes on the heels of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference last week, where Apple announced that in-app livestreaming capabilities for games will be available with iOS 10 this fall. Mobcrush and Olympus Rising, an action MMO from flaregames, were showcased on stage during the announcement.
Mobcrush plans to fully support this feature, which will allow players in any ReplayKit Live enabled game to easily stream to Mobcrush directly from their iPhone or iPad.
