Missouri American Water Announces Environmental Grant Recipients
More than $12,000 in grants awarded to individual projects across the state.
ST. LOUIS, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Missouri American Water today announced that four watershed-related projects will receive a total of more than $12,000 in Missouri American Water Grant funds. The 2010 grant recipients are:
- East-West Gateway Council of Governments, based in St. Louis, was awarded $5,000 to fund development of a nine-element watershed plan for the lower Meramec River.
- Missouri River Relief of Columbia was awarded $3,700 for the Missouri River Clean-up and Confluence Watershed Festival to take place in the St. Charles area.
- Trailnet, Inc., based in St. Louis, will receive $1,500 for a program utilizing volunteers to protect and conserve Watkins Creek.
- The Jasper and Newton County Environmental Task Force will be using $2,600 to sample and monitor water quality of Shoal Creek in Joplin.
