MinuteClinic Names New Chief Medical Officer
Massachusetts General Hospital Senior Vice President Nancy J. Gagliano, M.D. to take on new role in May
WOONSOCKET, R.I., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- MinuteClinic announced today that it has named Nancy J. Gagliano, M.D. as its new Chief Medical Officer. In her new role, Dr. Gagliano will be responsible for the overall delivery of high quality clinical care to MinuteClinic patients, the provision of appropriate physician supervision to nurse practitioners in collaborative practice and the establishment and maintenance of relationships with the external physician community. MinuteClinic, the retail health care division of CVS Caremark (NYSE: CVS), is the largest provider of retail-based medical clinics in the United States.
Gagliano has more than twenty years of experience in ambulatory care operations, including quality, administration, compliance, and finance. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President, Practice Improvement for Massachusetts General Hospital and Massachusetts General Physicians Organization in Boston. Gagliano also has experience as a medical and clinical director of Massachusetts General primary care and women's health ambulatory operations. Gagliano is a graduate of Harvard Medical School, where she currently serves as an Assistant Professor. She is a member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society, the American College of Physicians and the American College of Physician Executives.
