White in the city is a project created by Claudio Balestri, President of Oikos, and insistently developed to maintain the profile of culture and research within an event of the importance of Milan Design week, an event that has become an internationally renowned gathering and important moment in which to launch White. White Well-being Oikos .
The project - under the artistic direction of Giulio Cappellini - was born with the idea of putting together the experiences gained during our personal journey, choosing a common denominator - White - a color that represents purity and creativity with an approach tendency more into cultural and less commercial. Hence, the choice of Palazzo Brera and other prestigious locations in the center of Milan which will become the scene where the leading names in architecture and design will give their own interpretation of White.
We decided to elect White as the trending color for 2017, White portrayed in all its shades and textures. We will analyze all the socio-cultural aspects related to individuals, projected into their living spaces and lifestyles in order to contemplate and outline a white dimension that transforms any environment in a space for well-being (Cit.Cappellini)
The construction of White. White Well-being by Oikos represents the conclusion of a project involving decades of work and research into materials. We started with the understanding that there is no such thing as absolute white with a single way of representing it but a collection of 187 different types of white with different textured finishes that modify our perception even though each contains the same quantity of white.
A chromatic choice that generates well-being in the workplace or the home, a choice of ecological products without formaldehyde or polluting emissions within our living spaces, ecological white to guarantee healthy air to breathe in our homes and feel healthy as if we were surrounded by nature with a sensation of total well-being.
