EMERSON, N.J., Aug. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Micronet Ltd., a subsidiary of Micronet Enertec Technologies, Inc. ("MICT"), announced today the availability of its new A-307 product that addresses the local fleet segment, the largest Mobile Resource Management ("MRM") vertical market.
The A-307 is specifically designed for fleet and MRM solutions, offering advanced product features at compelling price points to support sales to local fleets through multiple value added resellers. The local fleet market is considered the largest and fastest growing segment in the MRM industry.
Following the success of its CE500 series in the long-haul segment, with over 100,000 units sold in 18 months, Micronet aims to penetrate the largest MRM segment of local fleets, estimated to grow from 2.9 million subscribers in 2012 to 4.6 million subscribers in 2015, according to market research from C. Driscoll & Associates of November 2012.
The A-307 features an advanced open standards platform, supporting both Android and Windows embedded operating systems, and enables independent application programming and integration with various mission critical automotive system and enterprise-level software solutions.
Micronet also debuts with this product line its new, patent-pending, Guardian System Design ("GSDTM"), which is a unique, seamlessly integrated, software and hardware system, that enables significant operational benefits and cost savings over the lifetime of the product. This system includes cloud-based software as a service features that Micronet will be offering for the first time to its customers on a recurring revenue basis.
Optional features of the GSDTM include:
- Remote Mobile Device Management
- Software and hardware self-diagnostics and recovery
- Fail safe firmware and application over-the-air update
Mr. Rafi Katz, head of MRM activity at MICT, commented "we are very pleased with the introduction of our new A-307 that is gaining significant industry traction, adding now the endorsement of market leader XRS. We look forward to addressing with this product the needs of the vast growing local fleet market."
