Michigan Connections Academy Parent Satisfaction Scores At Record High

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Aug. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As families continue to seek further flexibility and personalization in their education options, Michigan Connections Academy (MICA), a public, tuition-free, online school serving K-12 students statewide, continues to receive high ranks from families. A 2016-17 Parent Satisfaction Survey, administered through an independent research firm, found that parent satisfaction with MICA is at a record high. The program was given an "A" or "B" grade by 93 percent of parents, while 95 percent of parents said their child or children are satisfied with the program.

The survey also found that 97 percent of parents are satisfied with the helpfulness of their teachers at MICA, and 95 percent of parents agree that the curriculum is high quality.

Online education continues to appeal to many types of families. According to the survey, parents' top reasons for enrolling in MICA include: change from their current school (47%), desire for more flexibility (45%), and desire for a safe learning environment (39%).

"My kids will be getting certified on various machines at the local tech shop, launching their publishing company, and apprenticing with computer game designers and animators.
