Mervis Diamond, WUSA9 Team Up to Make Local Woman Feel Like Queen for Mother's Day
WASHINGTON, May 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, May 8th, WUSA9 reported the story of Laura Randolph feeling let-down by mismarked jewelry and what she felt was poor customer service at her local jewelry store. Jonathan Mervis, of Mervis Diamond Importers, teamed up with WUSA9 to do something special for Laura, surprising her with a $1000 shopping spree to Mervis Diamonds and a floral arrangement by Maryam's Flowers.

Laura Randolph and her husband had reached out to WUSA9's Call for Action team after receiving an incorrect piece of jewelry from their local retailer. When the Randolphs approached the other jeweler for service, they found themselves turned away and went to WUSA9 to rectify the situation.
According to Jonathan Mervis, "We are a family business and I've always been taught by family to do the right thing. In this situation, Laura wasn't our customer, but everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I'm sure the other retailer wasn't malicious with the mistake, but here was the opportunity to make it up to the customer."
WUSA9 invited Laura back on air on May 9th, but little did she know that there was a surprise waiting for her. Mid-interview, Jonathan Mervis of Mervis Diamond Importers walked onto the set with a stunning bouquet of flowers and a $1,000 gift card to spend on Mother's Day.
