Medical Home Exchange and RxREVU partner to deliver RxEngage
Pharmacy transparency and optimization solution to help employees save on out-of-pocket pharmacy costs
DENVER, July 30, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Today, Medical Home Exchange, a Dallas, TX-based health information exchange IT company and RxREVU, Denver, CO-based prescription optimization company, announced a partnership to transform health engagement by delivering transparency to consumers around medication cost and quality. The partnership powers a new value-based prescription drug product which addresses transparency around prescription drug cost, efficacy, and alternatives. This new joint product is called RxEngage and can save, on average, 20% of cost associated with prescription drug coverage. This transformational tool allows for employers, providers, consumers and managed care companies to all have an informed voice in care delivery and adherence, personalizing the healthcare experience to impact both health outcomes and cost.
According to Glenn Hibler, CEO of Medical Home Exchange, "RxREVU has the most comprehensive prescription dataset for value-based care and patient engagement. By providing consumers and their physicians access to this information, we will drive increased member engagement to boost prescription adherence. In addition, offering the RxREVU prescription optimization dataset via RxEngage will serve as a basis for better informed medication cost-quality conversations between physicians and patients. These conversations have become an integral part of delivering on value-based care."
With RxEngage and the RxREVU dataset, powered by over 13 different cost saving strategies and over 6,000 drug dose recommendations, consumers and their physicians will be enabled to find low cost alternatives without compromising their clinical effectiveness of their prescribed treatment.
Carm Huntress, CEO of RxREVU said, "Medical Home Exchange has had great success in providing the tools, technologies and strategies that can align incentives for patients, physicians and employers toward value-based care. Our prescription optimization dataset can act as a key component in providing the critical evidence-based information needed to help patients and their physicians make the medication decisions that are right for them. Enabling the right medication decisions and driving adherence has been shown to improve productivity and benefit satisfaction. We're looking forward to bringing those improvements to MHE customers."
RxREVU and MHE will offer two models to customers: one with the RxREVU dataset and recommendations, the other option will offer employers the opportunity to create a value-based plan designed around prescriptions. The plans could provide the opportunity to motivate members, through financial incentives, to explore lower-cost alternatives and save through plan design integration.
