CHICAGO, Oct. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Today NHL Hall of Famer and Chicago Blackhawks legend Denis Savard brought the Stanley Cup to the core of Hollywood Midwest - Cinespace Chicago Film Studios - where hundreds of native Chicagoan film and TV crew members and technicians relished the opportunity to touch the revered trophy, and Cinespace Chicago management savored the chance to taunt their Cinespace Toronto cousins.

Cinespace, currently in its 25th year of business, is North America's largest owner and operator of film and television production space with facilities in both Toronto and Chicago totaling over 2 million square feet on over 100 acres. The Cinespace Chicago crews that participated in Wednesday's Stanley Cup celebrations included NBC Universal series "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago PD", Fox series "Mind Games" and "Crisis", and the USA Networks series "Sirens".
"We thank our good friend Denis Savard for this memorable opportunity and we congratulate the Chicago Blackhawks on their glorious achievement, but we especially thank Denis and the Hawks for allowing our film and TV industry to celebrate Chicago's hockey supremacy over our counterparts in Toronto, who may never, ever get this chance in their entire lifetimes", remarked Alexander Pissios, President of Cinespace Chicago.
"While we too congratulate the Chicago Blackhawks, it is unfortunate that our Chicago cousins have exhibited such poor sportsmanship in their celebrations," retorted Cinespace Toronto Vice President D. Jim Mirkopoulos, "and because we sympathize with their relative difficulty in finding high quality beer in their country, we are shipping real Canadian beer down to our Chicago office immediately. The Stanley Cup deserves nothing less to be consumed in its presence."
To this, the Cinespace Chicago President countered later in the day, "While we never turn away shipments of Canadian beer, I remind our Toronto office that the Lagunitas Brewing Company's craft brewery will very soon be operational here on our Chicago studio lot. I also hereby invite the entire Toronto Maple Leafs team for a studio and brewery tour next time they visit Chicago - perhaps the ample beer tastings will help the Leafs perform better against our Hawks next time around." Pissios was referring to the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 loss to Chicago this past Saturday night, to which Mirkopoulos simply replied, "No comment."
