MDG Medical was founded in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2001 and has been co-located between Lod, Israel, and Beachwood, Ohio, until the corporate headquarters moved to Aurora, Ohio, in January of this year. Mark Saffran, President and CEO of the company stated, "While it is hard to leave Israel, this is the right move for the company. We are committed to providing the highest quality of product to our customers, optimizing our supply chain and simplifying business processes. This decision was necessary as part of our efforts to improve customer focus, leverage resources and reduce expenses. Closing the Israel facility and consolidating our operations in Aurora will drive significant cost reductions, move product development closer to the customer and improve operational excellence. We will be growing the workforce in North East Ohio by 20-30 people over the next 18 months. This will create high-tech opportunities for programmers, hardware engineers and manufacturing. Several of our Israeli employees have expressed interest in relocating to the greater Cleveland community and we are pleased about this outcome. We are proud to be one of many smaller, growing technology companies in North East Ohio whose roots come from Israel."
MDG currently serves the rural and community hospital market and has partners servicing both the correctional and nursing home markets. Today MDG Medical Incorporated has over 150 customers in five countries with 95% of its business in the United States.
