M.D. Sass Expands Senior Executive Team

NEW YORK, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- M.D. Sass, a leader in investment management for thirty-eight years, is pleased to announce the expansion of its senior executive team with the appointment of Philip Sherman as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and as a member of the firm's Executive Committee.

Mr. Sherman brings an extensive operations background and more than 25 years of experience in senior executive positions within the financial services industry.

Prior to joining M.D. Sass, Mr. Sherman was brought in as Chief Financial Officer to help restructure ACA Financial Guaranty, where he was responsible for administration, finance and accounting, information technology, investments and human resources. Earlier, he was Executive Vice President and CFO of Reliance Insurance. He was also Senior Vice President and Group Controller of Reliance Group Holdings, and an Audit Manager at Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Sherman holds a B.A. in accounting from Long Island University, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York Society of CPAs.
