Will lead Detroit Regional Chamber 2011 Mackinac Policy Conference
MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich., June 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber announced the election of Charles G. "Chip" McClure, chairman, CEO and president, ArivinMeritor Inc. as First Vice Chair of the Detroit Regional Chamber Board of Directors for the 2010-2011 program year. In this role McClure will also serve as the 2011 Mackinac Policy Conference co-chair. He succeeds Barbara E. Allushuski, president, Right Management Great Lakes Region who will become chair of the Chamber's Board.

McClure has more than 30 years of diverse leadership experience in the motor vehicle industry and currently leads a $4.1 billion Tier 1 global supplier of a broad range of integrated systems, modules and components to the light and commercial vehicle industry. Before joining ArvinMeritor in his current position in 2004, McClure served as CEO, president and a member of the Board of Federal-Mogul Corp.

Earlier today the chamber announced a renewed focus on the automotive, transportation and manufacturing sectors through a collaboration with the MICHAuto organization. McClure's expertise and leadership will be critical as the chamber further defines its strategy for this area.
McClure officially begins his role as First Vice Chair on July 1. Planning for the 2011 Mackinac Policy Conference will begin in August. The conference historically begins the Wednesday following the Memorial Day holiday, making 2011 conference dates Wednesday, June 1 through Saturday, June 4.
