In this position, May-Leng is leading and coaching Plant Managers and leadership team in implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology and tools to achieve business results. World Class Manufacturing production methodology which focuses on managerial leadership includes the development and engagement of people in the application of technical methods and tools to achieve operational excellence. WCM is recognized as a key strategy in the continued success of the Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) US LLC.
As a certified WCM Auditor worldwide, May Leng's additional responsibilities include performing world class manufacturing audits across the regions to ensure that the methodology and tools are correctly applied and implemented in the manufacturing operations to achieve business results
May-Leng specializes in Lean Manufacturing; Supply Chain Management; Logistics Management; Strategy Development; Purchasing; Material Handling Techniques; Industrial Engineering; Logistics Engineering; World Class Logistics Standards and Methodology. As Director of World Class Logistics Center of Competence, May-Leng led the development of lean supply chain solutions, which included the design and implementation of innovative parts handling and logistics methods to reduce internal plant material handling costs and external supply chain costs. This encompassed the entire Supply Chain from receiving inbound parts from suppliers to delivery to the production line and shipments of outbound finished engines, transmissions, vehicle and service parts; development of best practices and providing coaching direction for operational implementation across Chrysler Group's 30 stamping, engine, transmission, vehicle assembly plants and MOPAR service parts distribution center locations located in U.S., Canada and Mexico.
As a result of her dedication and expertise within the field of logistics, May-Leng has been honored as a Delegate Featured Leader by International Women's Leadership Association in 2013, as well as being named as one of 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News in September 2010. She was also honored as a 2010 Professional of the Year in the Automobile Manufacturing Industry by Cambridge Who's Who in August 2011. Furthermore, she was awarded the title of Empire Who's Who Professional of the Year representing the automobile industry from 2006-2007. In her spare time, she enjoys softball, baseball and basketball.
May-Leng earned both her Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Analysis and Master of Science degree in Operations Research from the University of Miami.
