POWELL, Ohio, Sept. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- MathWizard, Inc., an educational enrichment company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, has changed its name to A Grade Ahead to reflect its expanded curriculum that now includes English, science and a variety of educational camps. The name change was effective September 5, 2016. A Grade Ahead offers its advanced learning system to students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
"It has been very rewarding to see our students excel academically and achieve their full potential. They not only perform well on standardized tests, but also exhibit a strong sense of competence, passion and finely tuned critical thinking skills," said Parag Singhal, co-founder and president. "Our students really do move ahead, and I think our new brand is a reflection of that."
Unlike other enrichment programs that focus on drills and memorization, A Grade Ahead goes beyond the basics to help students strengthen their analytical and problem-solving skills while presenting material in an engaging, entertaining manner. The curriculum is updated annually to reflect best practices and changes in educational standards.
The company was founded in 2001 by Meenal and Parag Singhal to provide students with the math skills they need to succeed in school and life by promoting critical thinking and foundational skills while cultivating a passion for learning. It was initially launched as MathWizard Tutoring by Mail, an at-home program that concentrated solely on math.
The success of their students and the popularity of the programs led to the opening of the first Enrichment Academy in Dublin, OH in 2006, and franchising of the concept several years later. Currently, the program is offered in 29 academies in 11 states across the country. Its highly educated teachers and small classes of no more than eight students distinguish A Grade Ahead from many other programs.
Underscoring the appeal of the learning system, the majority of franchisees are parents of former students and more than 80 percent of referrals come from parents in the program. A Grade Ahead continues to offer its Enrichment At Home learning programs for students who do not live in close proximity to an enrichment academy.
A Grade Ahead will officially introduce the new brand with a series of festivals and open houses for students, parents, and the general public at each enrichment academy during the month of September.
