Master Mark Plastics Endorses Weed Out Hate Initiative
Leading plastics recycler supports grass roots coalition of business, government and education groups seeking to change kids' attitudes through 'green' behavior.
ALBANY, Minn., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark Reum, CEO of Master Mark Plastics, today announced his endorsement and support for the Weed Out Hate Initiative. Established by author and businessman Marc Daniels, the project is busily sowing the seeds of a coalition of business, government and education groups calling for gardening pedagogy and social action in the United States and abroad.
Master Mark Plastics has become a premier name in lawn, garden and building supplies as recyclers of HDPE plastics. Having processed some 1 billion pounds of recycled plastics into edging, lattice and composite decking since its founding, Reum believes that "'Weed Out Hate' will take social responsibility and community outreach to the next level." He added, "Inspiring kids to not only recycle plastics but misguided feelings of hate and prejudice can help us all contribute to a better, brighter and greener world."
Reum and Daniels also announced their commitment to transform the Weed Out Hate Initiative into a recognized foundation within coming months. It would serve as a consortium for promoting lawn and garden supplier product licensing programs, through which grant funds would be generated to promote worthy gardening pedagogical causes. Said Daniels, "With the backing of Mark Reum and Master Mark, we are one step closer to converting our budding dream into reality."
The Weed Out Hate Initiative advocates for kids to extract the "weed seeds of hate" through gardening, and, now, with Master Mark Plastics' participation, recycling projects. Children would become empowered to improve themselves while improving society, just by extracting once single garden weed—roots and all.
In his August 16th visit to the Lincoln Home National Historic site in Springfield, IL, Daniels read official proclamations from the cities of Des Moines, IA and Springfield, IL announcing August 28th as "Weed Out Hate" Day in commemoration of Martin Luther King's historic 1963 "I have a dream" speech.
