Map Technology From Heidelberg for the Consumer Electronics Show
Deep Map™ to help people find their way in Las Vegas
HEIDELBERG, Germany, Jan. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- This year, over 180,000 people are once more expected to attend the world's largest consumer electronics trade show from 9-12 January 2018. As at last year's event, Heidelberg Mobil International GmbH's mobile 3D map technology will help people find their way around the enormous venue. The 2018 show's official app will once again be supplied by leading mobile technology platform Eventbase. Integrated within the app, Deep Map™ will contribute to a highly personalized user experience with seamless indoor/outdoor navigation.
Now in its 51st year, the CES keeps delivering dazzling highlights and groundbreaking innovations that set the trends for the global industry. The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) is promising the top industry professionals who attend this year's mega-event "more whoa than ever before". Lying in store for attendees are some 20,000 exciting new products, 1,175 speakers, 4,000 exhibitors from a wide spectrum of technology sectors, and a huge range of events.
To help visitors find their way around the enormous venue, the CTA is providing a personalized app created exclusively for the event by industry leaders Eventbase. The app acts as a digital assistant, guiding users through the extensive program and enabling highly personalized planning of their visit.
Thanks to IT experts Heidelberg Mobil International GmbH's Deep Map™ technology, the hordes of visitors won't have to rely on their own sense of direction or static floor plans. Whether they are going from a successful meeting to a hip event or heading from the monorail station to check out the latest cool gadget, the integrated, dynamic map technology shows app users the shortest route to wherever they want to get to next. A search function makes it easy to find your way to specific exhibitors and other destinations.
As well as the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center (LVCC), the app's integrated map also covers the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, the Sands Expo and Convention Center, The Venetian and the ARIA Resort & Casino. The map displays more than 3,500 stands and session rooms on multiple floors. In addition, Deep Map™ uses Open Street Map data to show many parts of the Las Vegas Strip, including 31 of the most popular hotels.
Besides making it easy for the tech crowd to find their way to the event, the map also guarantees comprehensive navigation between the inside and outside of the venue once they are there. "To deliver seamless indoor/outdoor navigation, this year's map also includes the Las Vegas Monorail stations as well as the most important shuttle and transportation routes such as the C Space Shuttle and Tech Express", explains Managing Director Dr. Matthias Jöst. "Deep Map™ will help visitors at this year's CES to seamlessly find their way from A to B."
