Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Honors New York City's Premier Business & Civic Leaders at Annual Awards Breakfast

NEW YORK, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, November 4th, 2010, from 8:00a.m. to 10:00a.m., the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce (MCC) will honor eleven of New York's foremost business and civic leaders at its 2010 Business Awards Breakfast.  MCC is one of New York City's oldest and most respected business development and professional networking organizations.

Joan Hamburg, WOR Radio personality, will receive the prestigious "New Yorker of the Year" award in recognition of her decade-long service and commitment to improving the quality of post-secondary education in New York City.  Russell Simmons is being honored with the Cultural Achievement Award and Stephen Sondheim, with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Presenters include Tim Zagat; New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn; Roundabout Theater Director, Todd Haimes; Kathryn Wylde, Partnership for New York City; and Senator Liz Krueger.

MCC's Business Awards Breakfast is an annual event that celebrates the achievements of New York City entrepreneurs who have established themselves as leaders in their respective industries.

At this year's breakfast, MCC will honor a total of eleven recipients with the following awards:

New Yorker of the Year – Joan Hamburg

Cultural Achievement Award – Russell Simmons

Lifetime Achievement Award – Stephen Sondheim

Small Business Award – New York Grant Company

Mid-Size Business Award – I. Spiewak Uniforms

Large Business Award - Accenture

Global Business Award – Dragagos

Restaurateur of the Year – Jean-Georges Vongerichten

Retailer of the Year – Syms/Filene's Basement

Green Business of the Year – ABC Carpet & Home

Young Professionals Award – EMM Group

The event venue is the Con Edison Conference Center at 4 Irving Place (14 Street Between 3rd Avenue and Park Avenue).

MCC members may purchase single tickets for $85 or a table of ten for $800.

Ticket prices for non-members are $125 for a single ticket; table of ten is $1,000.00.
