Major Category Finalists and Sector Winners Announced for Inaugural ACG New York Champion's Awards
Top Deals and Professionals will be honored June 20th in New York City
NEW YORK, June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The M&A Advisor and ACG New York have named over 120 finalist companies in 25 different categories in preparation for its inaugural tribute to the outstanding achievements in the middle market M&A industry in the New York Region.
An independent body of experts, who represent a cross-section of the middle market industry, have judged the finalists' deals; deal makers and firms.
The winners for Major Deal Categories, Deal Maker and Firm of the Year categories will be announced at the ACG New York Champion's Awards Gala on the evening of Monday, June 20 at Sotheby's New York.
Already, the independent judges have selected winners in the Sector Deal categories. These winning transactions will also be honored at the awards gala.
"We are very impressed with the quality of the nominations for the Inaugural ACG New York Champion's Awards and the range of leading and emerging firms who are finalists' candidates in the New York area," says Roger Aguinaldo, CEO of The M&A Advisor. "We are excited to be collaborating with the ACG New York chapter by bringing a decade of experience to recognizing the best deals and dealmakers."
This year's finalists represent a number of leading firms, including Goldman Sachs; White & Case; HSBC Capital; Barclays Capital; Houlihan Lokey; and Fifth Street Finance and the most significant transactions of the year including the Acquisition of Bowne & Co, Inc. by R.R. Donnelley & Sons, Inc.; Chapter 11 of Six Flags, Inc; and the Bankruptcy of the Texas Rangers.
To qualify, the finalists' transactions had to close between April 1, 2010 and March 30, 2011 and be over $5 million in transaction value. Firms executing the transactions would have offices located in the New York region.
In addition to recognizing the winners that evening, the event will also honor Robert "Bobby" Blumenfeld, the recipient of the inaugural Peter Hilton Founder's Award for his achievements as President of the ACG New York Chapter from 2004-2010. "It is indeed humbling to be recognized by my peers," says Bobby Blumenfeld, now the Executive Director of ACG New York. "It is an honor to work with our members in building long-term relationships while driving middle market growth."
