Lynn University collaborates with Watson University to deliver core curriculum through iPad program
BOCA RATON, Fla. and BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Lynn University and Watson University announced Saturday, Oct. 11, during the Millennium Campus Conference, a partnership that will enable Watson students to earn a degree through Lynn's innovative iPad program.
Boulder, Colorado-based Watson allows for students who are interested in topics such as global development and social entrepreneurship to gain a hands-on experience with mentorship and guidance from accomplished entrepreneurs. Watson attracts students from various colleges across the country including Amherst College, Babson College, Dartmouth College, Georgetown University, Princeton University and the University of Colorado. In collaboration with Lynn, Watson is now launching Degree Track, a pilot program that enables students to receive a bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship in 30 months. The program will require students to spend four semesters at Watson and three summers engaged in iTunesU courses from Lynn.
"Students at Watson will now have mobile access to Lynn's nationally recognized core curriculum, the Dialogues of Learning, which includes interactive course materials, videos and other rich content that engage students in discussion and encourage critical thinking," says Lynn University President Kevin M. Ross. "This is a pilot program, and we are hoping its success will allow Lynn to work with other partners in the near future."
"Watson is proving that it can offer the skills and experience in the form of an accredited degree from Lynn," says Watson University Founder and President Eric Glustrom. "The Degree Track program is serving the needs of today's students, and with Lynn's iPad technology, students can virtually complete the core curriculum from anywhere in the world."
Lynn University's award-winning iPad program has been recognized nationally. CIO Magazine honored Lynn as one of 100 organizations worldwide doing innovative work with measureable impact, and the Association of College and University Telecommunications Administrators (ACUTA) granted Lynn the Institutional Excellence in Information Technology Award.
